Responsible and accountable for the shift level coordination and direction of all production activity toward the achievement of maximum efficiency of operations with the assurance of producing quality products.
Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred
Two years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing industry required
Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast paced environment.
Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required.
Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
Must demonstrate ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex sets of data.
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 60 pounds.
Must be able to work in a wet environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens.
Supervise, lead, and mentor hourly production employees.
Provide assistance to Production Manager as it relates to training, improving efficiency of production operations, data evaluation, effective and efficient utilization of equipment and people, and process optimization.
Prioritize hourly production employee workload, assisting Production Manager in scheduling and assessing performance.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processes.
Comply with and enforce all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
Use and enforce use of all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.
Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
Follow and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Follow and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures.
Wear and enforce wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Follow and enforce all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.
