Overview

Responsible and accountable for the shift level coordination and direction of all shipping activity toward the achievement of maximum efficiency of operations with the assurance of packaging, preparing, and loading quality products for delivery to customers in a safe manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline highly preferred; Associate’s degree required.
  • Two years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing/warehouse industry required.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Must demonstrate ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex sets of data.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion. 
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.


Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a wet environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and mentor hourly shipping employees.
  • Provide assistance to Shipping Manager as it relates to training, improving efficiency of shipping operations, data evaluation, effective and efficient utilization of equipment and people, and process optimization.
  • Prioritize hourly production employee workload, assisting Shipping Manager in scheduling and assessing performance.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processes
  • Comply with and enforce all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
  • Use and enforce use of all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.
  • Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
